ST. CECILIA: The Patron Saint of Musicians & Composers
The Steve Azar St. Cecilia Foundation was founded in 2006 by Steve and his wife Gwen to serve as a vehicle for charitable service and giving back to their community through Steve’s abilities as a singer/songwriter and performer. They hope to leave this foundation as a legacy for their children to participate in and learn the value of giving back.
The Steve Azar St. Cecilia Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation. The focus of the foundation is to aid charitable organizations particularly in the Delta region. Priority will be given to Catholic organizations that aid sick, disadvantaged and abused children of all denominations. Also the foundation supports the arts and music within educational and cultural institutions.
Since it’s inception, the foundation has raised funds for the following: St. Jude Research Hospital, Palmer Home for Children, Arkansas Sherrifs’ Youth Ranches, Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, H.A.N.D.Y. (Helping Abused Neglected Dependent Youth), St. Matthew’s Church Flood Relief Fund-Franklin, TN, St. Joseph Catholic School Art & Music Department, The Delta Music Institute (DMI) – Delta State University, Greenville Arts Council, Delta 180 Degrees, scholarship fund for 10 2013 Washington County graduates.

FEBRUARY 2013 Steve Azar St. Cecilia Foundation Creates Unique Scholarship Fund at Delta State University. One scholarship in the amount of $1000 will be offered to each of the ten high schools in Washington County, Mississippi, for which first time freshmen students to Delta State University may apply.

JUNE 2012 The Delta Soul Celebrity Golf and Charity Event in Greenville raised $110,000 in net funds for the foundation! Many thanks to all of our sponsors, celebrities, volunteers and committee who made it happen.
DECEMBER 2010 The Steve Azar St. Cecilia foundation sponsored a treatment donation drive for St. Jude Children’s Hospital during the holidays
JUNE 2010 Recently the SASCF partnered with Caribbean Country 93.5 radio station in St. Croix for a Hoe Down Concert to benefit flood victims in the Nashville area.
DECEMBER 2009 The Steve Azar St. Cecilia foundation sponsored a treatment donation drive for St. Jude Children’s Hospital during the holidays.
FEBRUARY 2008 The Steve Azar St. Cecilia Foundation was presented a check from Kathy & Al Wisne for $10,000 to benefit H.A.N.D.Y. (Helping Abused Neglected Dependent Youth). Steve and his band performed at the event which was held by The Wisne’s at their home in Fort Lauderdale, FL
OCTOBER 2007 The Steve Azar St. Cecilia Foundation sponsored a Holiday toy drive for the patients of St. Jude Hospital.
JULY 2007 The Steve Azar St. Cecilia Foundation recently donated $20,000 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Steve has joined forces with Afterschool Alliance, a national advocacy organization working on behalf of afterschool programs nationwide to ensure that all kids can have access to a safe, supervised place to learn and play at the end of the school day and before parents come home from work.
