Azar along with Jerry Lee Lewis, Marty Gamblin, Johnny Cash’s “Starkville City Jail” track and Jimmie Rodgers’ Bristol, Tennessee music sessions were honored with five new trail markers at a special ceremony in Philadelphia, Mississippi. There are currently 30 Country Music Trail markers with the last being placed in 2015. Marty Stuart has a marker and is a member of the commission. The trail markers, researched and placed by the Mississippi Development Authority, were first unveiled in 2010 and have honored such musical pioneers as Conway Twitty, Faith Hill, Jimmie Rodgers and Stuart.
